If you are interested in nightlife, deffinatly make your base and find a hotel in Hollywood. From there you can walk to most bars/clubs and trendy restaurants.

I'm male, early 30s and from England. I'll be visiting from Nov 8-15th and staying in Santa Monica.
I'm in the video games industry and very much want to pursue a job in LA next year. In the mean time, I'm trying to 'get to know the city'
I was over in march with friends and did a lot of touristy things but this is the first time I'm coming across on my own and would like to spend my time checking out bars/clubs and maybe meet a few friends along the way.
