I'll be visiting from Nov 8-15th and staying in Santa Monica. I'm in the video games industry and very much want to pursue a job in LA next year. In the mean time, I'm trying to 'get to know the city' I was over in march with friends and did a lot of touristy things but this is the first time I'm coming across on my own and would like to spend my time checking out bars/clubs and maybe meet a few friends along the way. If you are interested in nightlife, deffinatly make your base and find a hotel in Hollywood. From there you can walk to most bars/clubs and trendy restaurants. E-Mail Alex, he can put you on guestlists for some happening clubs in that area (alexinla03@yahoo.com) Restaurants are also very trendy in Hollywood. Might want to check out Geisha House, Memphis, Citizen Smith, Parc. They all have a lively barscene aswell, so you can stay after/before dinner and have some drinks and chat with people. L.A.Is not a uptide city, feel free to walk up to peole and start chatting(in a smart/funny way of course, don't walk up to a girl and say " You are hot",lol, that aint going to score you any points)
